Egyptian Women 1923. What happened?

ستات مصر سنة 1923 هو إيه اللي حصل ؟

In March 1923, the "Egyptian Feminist Union" was established by these women in the picture to improve Egyptian women's status in the field of literature and at the social level to ensure equal rights and obligations as men. What Happened?

Today Queen of Egypt thinks that she is bestowing upon us the rights that we had never had before. It is known that Queen of Egypt is taking the sole role of representing the governement, non-governmental organizations, civil societies, all Egyptian women from all governorates and from all walks of life.

Long live the Queen of Egypt!!!who is taking the brunt of all playing all our roles with the full delegation of summoning all ministers at any time and any place.

Rumors run that she is one pressuring the old Mubarak to have Mr. Mubarak Jr. as his successor. How very motherly of her!

What struck me in these photos are not the story about queen Elizabeth of Egypt, she is trying to make some change any way, what struck me is how those women look like and what are they wearing. Those women who dared to challenge the strict tradition in the 20's and took off the purda (el Borko'a)their grand daughters are returning to the same mentality those women defied, regarding themselves as incompetent and a source of temptation,a door for the devil that should be closed by vail and Nekab and all these silly stuff and retreating from sports, politics and everything that put them on equal footing with their mail counterparts. If these photos show anything, they show the magnitude of backwardness and retardation the Egyptian society has fallen into.

I heard this rumor as well. I agree with you. How motherly of her to think her son must be the successor to his DADY! Normal, mother's instinct.

I think the so-called Queen of Egypt has only one thing in common with the real Queen Elisabeth, which is some Welsh blood. Real nobility is displayed through the heart. Some people have it, others don't. Its an easy guess who of the two doesn't.....
