The Netherlands Cracks Down On Potential Immigrants by Homosexual Movie

If you want to be an immigrant in The Netherlands, you need to watch a movie for two gay men kissing and a scene for a toppless woman to test the readiness for living in a liberal society.

The Netherlands has set a number of new rules for new immigrants. Despite whether they find the film offensive, applicants must buy a copy and watch it if they hope to pass the Netherlands' new entrance examination.

The test — the first of its kind in the world — became compulsory Wednesday, and was made available at 138 Dutch embassies.

Anti-immigration sentiment peaked with filmmaker Theo van Gogh's murder by a Dutch national of Moroccan descent in November 2004.

Guess who are targetted by this movie?

Is the topless woman really ugly? Because I probably wouldn't mind that part. Not that I'm planning on immigrating to the Netherlands anytime soon!

I'm not clear on what Germany and the Netherlands are attempting with things like the German citizenship test for muslims and this video for immigrants? It seems like they are meant to create hostility rather than accomplish anything?

I actually did the test myself as part of the pilot project and saw gays (kissing) nor topless women... Bummer! Maybe I flunked?

This crosses my line of personal freedom, - but what the H... is Europe supposed to do to avoid becoming Eurabia by immigration?

Please come up with some good ideas to avoid this.

I don't mind nudity and homosexuals kissing each other, but I think the test is wrong as part of an immigration policy. If I were a believing muslim, I would stay away from the Netherlands as a desirable destination. But that is probably the point. The Netherlands don't want ordinary believing muslims. They probably want to restrict immigration to skilled workers and experts. That's not only narrow-minded; it is also a wrong policy in a globalising world where you need to mix peoples more than it happens at the moment. Europes fertility rate is too low. If we're not going to witness "Untergang des Abendlandes" we must have some immigration into the old and tired Europe.

I guess this is an attempt to address the problem of immigrants moving to a country without any real intention of becoming adjusted/acculturated citizens of said country. How useful it is remains to be seen. People often endure unpleasant events because they have a goal in mind and are willing to pay a price to gain that goal... even if it means watching offensive movies. I doubt that these movies are going to successfully weed out the undesirables. It doesn't seem well thought out to me!

Programmer Craig,

I have bad news for you, you are exempted because you are American.

Everybody,

I believe the Netherlands has been already burned when Van Gogh was killed by a fanatic muslim man who until this day does not regret that he killed the director. All those waves of attacks that took place in Europe by European citizens will make countries consider many procedures to acquire residency.

Let's not forget the 12 cartoons that set the Muslim world on fire.

We do not need immigration,, we need to encourage our own Peoples to have enough children to keep us afloat demographically.
Pay us to have chidren, Ban all moslems from having polygamy. End all social security for them.
Payments for Child bearers only to be available for those from "original" European bloodstock.
No more muslims with five children on State benefits.
Make all who want to live in our EU countries sign an agreement that they will only practise their faith in private.
Any interference with established faiths and democratic entities,.. immediate expulsion.
Tag all immigrants for at least a year and ban all so-called islamic scholars from coming to Europe.
Monitor all jihadis websites and visit all who use them.
Kick out ALL illegals immediately.
Biometric passports for all immigrants, NOT existing residents.
Clear nuclear deterrence policy....Any Dirty bomb or WMD attack on Europe,..immediate destruction of Mecca with nuclear response. Let it be known publicly.
Reduce reliance on oil. Cut the petrodollars going to saudi wahabbists.
Immediateprogram for wave-power, offshore windfarms and solar power in hotter regions.
Cut all waste. Recycle everything. Give the jobs to unemployed, with good wages. Alternatively, make all would-be immigrants work in recycling for 5 years.
End wasteful useage of cars and cheap jet travel. Toughshit, we got to change. Make trains etc. cheaper to use.
Plant new forests, stop importing rare timber. Thats more work for any immigrants who want to stay.
I could go on.. in other words,... get a f+cking grip on reality.
Oh and by the way, get rid of political correctness.
And no more European bloodsucking politician beaurocrats in Brussels.
And tackle European heroin distribution right here. Don't send our soldiers to Afghanistan to try to stop production, and get killed in process, put our lads on the streets and kick a few doors in,
round up the dealers, mostly from you know where and lock the f+ckers up.
Don't ya like it? Well you can have the alternatives then, second class citizens in your own countries and Democracy usurped by sharia law.

Friendly European.

My blood pressure rose to unbearable hights but only for a a few minutes which kept my aneurism from exploding.

Polygamy is against the law. Unofficial polygamy (divorcing "on paper" and remarrying) is generally not accepted in the muslim communities.

And end to social security for a group of people defined by religion is against laws of racism and moral.

The "bloodstock" comment made me feel sick to my stomach. I'm the spitting image of a Third Reich ideal - and that makes me a better parent?

The number of children in a family is usually in tight connection with the level of education of the parents. Parents with longer educations have fewer children with better health and more support.
Empower women. Give them the right to and the recognition in going to school, college and university.

As a part of the foundation of a free secular society any religious group has the right to meet and share their religion. They should of course have the right to invite who they want to preach. Some european countries have national educations for imams as well as priests to make sure they know something about the country. I think it's a good idea.

But there is not a place in a society for violent organisations. It doesn't matter if they are religious or polical.

The dirty bomb thing is out of the question. To blame a religion for the acts of the few followers is unfair. It's as silly as blaming the whole of Denmark for the act of a newspaper.

Your ideas about recycling, oil dependency, tree planting, useless waste etc etc are pretty good.

Drug smuggling would end, if morphin were legalized but destributed by the state. It could easily be financed by the insurance companies not having to pay for burgleries and for the health care industry not treating TB, HIV, infected wounds, hepatitis B+C, kidney failure etc.
If there's no money in it, there's no point in it for the criminals.

Keep our lads in Afghanistan. It's unfair to leave now.

And EU. I have mixed feelings but José Manuel Barroso is a hero!

"Don't ya like it? Well you can have the alternatives then, second class citizens in your own countries and Democracy usurped by sharia law."
If the alternative is a totalitarian state, where the object for hate and oppression by luck is somebody else than me, then it could as well be the sharia as seen in Iran or Saudi.

My blood pressure is now back to normal.

European too

The first 5 seconds I thought it really sounded completely absurd, but after some consideration I came to like the idea.

The movie shows what is acceptable in holland, and if one cannot see such a film, one cannot live in holland neither.

adrian got it right. the movie is kind of a statement : we don't mind THIS to happen. do you ? if so please consider to locate elsewhere.

Holland judges tollerance by one's ability to watch sexual images? What a low standard.

Why not watch a movie about freedom of speech, property rights, or coexistence religions within a body of people governed by the same civil laws? Aren't these the true values that have enabled progress in the West? There are those of us in the West who are offended by the images of homosexuality.

Exposing breasts and other infantile trists of nudity and sex are of little value when compared to the ability to express opposition to your government without the fear of internment or death. In theory, this is the distinguishing strength of western culture. In practice I don't know if the Dutch realize this.
